Hostfi is a smart banking platform for short-term rental managers. Your account comes with Operating Accounts, Trust Accounts, Trust Vault Accounts, Visa Business Commercial Cards, ACH/Wire payments, STR expense management tools and features, and STR income tools and features.
*Hostfi is a financial technology company, not a bank. Services provided by the Stripe Payments Company with funds held at Evolve Bank & Trust, Member FDIC.
You’ll need a U.S. company with a federal EIN, information about your company’s formation including major shareholders and company owner personal identify details including SSN. If additional verification is needed, you may be asked to upload company documents and/or a picture of your government ID (e.g., a passport or US driver’s license). All verification information and uploads are encrypted with bank-level security and not held on Hostfi's servers.
No, we currently only serve clients located in the United States that are residents or citizens of the United States. We are working on allowing more international access in the future.
We primarily accept short-term rental management companies and their associated short-term rental property owners at this time.
Deposits into Hostfi accounts are FDIC Insurance-Eligible up until the standard $250K limit thanks to our partner bank.
Hostfi is free to use and charges no fees. There are no account minimums, overdraft fees, monthly fees, or account opening fees. Get more details on our Pricing page.
Hostfi has made security a top priority. Here are some measures we take to ensure your security:
-Require HTTPS on all pages, and use HSTS to ensure browsers only ever connect to us over a secure connection.
-Hash and store all passwords with the bcrypt algorithm — never as plaintext.
-Never store your sensitive data like social security numbers and use bank-level encryption for all uploaded information and documents.
-Never store your debit or credit card numbers.
When you use your Hostfi cards, Visa charges a fee to the merchant. Hostfi receives a percentage of this fee, known as interchange. Our partner bank also earns a small amount of interest on deposits, and Hostfi receives a percentage of this amount.
We use your SSN only to verify your identity. We do not check your credit score or perform any credit checks.
Hostfi stores your funds with our partner bank, Evolve Bank & Trust, Member FDIC.

Stripe aids us in account servicing and payment features. We use Stripe to help us open accounts, link third-party bank accounts to Hostfi accounts, send and receive payments, and facilitate quick transfers between accounts. You can learn more about Stripe at stripe.com.

Yes, you can send money via ACH for free domestically through your Hostfi dashboard by going to the Payments page. You can find your ACH details for same-day incoming transfers for each of your accounts by going to your Accounts page. You can also link external accounts to Hostfi for faster transfers.

Hostfi's Visa Commercial Cards do not offer a credit limit to a user and any purchase is charged instantly to your balance. Similarly, Hostfi does not perform a credit check when you sign up or impact your credit score.
Hostfi may offer credit lines available to certain clients that have utilized Hostfi accounts and cards for at least 6 months so please reach out if you believe you qualify.
Your physical commercial card will arrive in a white envelope to the shipping address you requested after your account is created. You can also create and use virtual commercial cards immediately.

You’ll be able to find your accounts and their associated routing and account numbers from the Accounts tab on your dashboard.
Yes, you can invite as many team members as you want to your Hostfi account. Please reach out to us to invite additional team members.
For now, we have three types of access: admin access, bookkeeper access, and card-only access. Users with admin access can request new cards, set card limits, can move money, and can add team members or change their permissions. Users with bookkeeper access can't request new cards, can't move money, and can't add or edit users. Users with card-only access can be issued a card and are only able to view their own transactions for categorization. They cannot view account information or transactions outside of their debit card.
